We had fun watching all the silly antics and choreographed stunts. Here is highlight of what we saw:
This guy 'ant' was amazing with dribbling. He started out on his knees and spun around until he was fully on his side, still spinning and dribbling away!
Walking on his knees and still dribbling:
The players interacted with the audience at times. Between quarters they'd pull some kids out and have dance contents or mess with the Globetrotters mascot. One time they took this lady's purse and kept playing until the ref stopped the game. And the guy was like, "I dunno where this came from!"
Bowling with the mascot:
Incredible dunking:
Then they played a little football (did some tricks, then reversed the whole scene, and did it again):
This guy is one of the original Harlem Globetrotters, Curly. He came out hunched over with a cane, barley walking, demanding to play ball. Finally he convinces Special K (the main guy) to let him play and he SLAMS it, then falls on the ground in pain. He staggers off the stage. Most impressive was that we watched him once he got off the court to see if he'd walk upright, but he played the part even to the end.
The mascot was extremely entertaining. The kids (and Travis) liked him best of all.
He had a few tricks up his sleeve too!
Can you guess how he did that??
Throughout the show the coach of the Washington Generals would come out and hypnotize a Globetrotter teammate. That teammate would then sabotage the game until an exceptional play was made. That would be make to snap them out of it. The pictures that we posted here mostly of the 'exceptional' plays that were made.
